Get It All Gone

Written by Steve Milligan on 15th March 2025

Lift with your knees, love

It’s a heavy one

It’s been in the family

Since I was young

I’d hate to leave it

No I don’t want to see it go

But this sinking ship’s

Gotta pay for the rising tide somehow

That one was my father’s

He was a busy one

Saved up for that thing for three years

While keeping us warm

But those suits in the city

Must be hurting more than me

To take every want that I earned

To pay for their needs

(Chorus)

So get it all gone

Get it all gone

Get it all gone

Til the lights come back on

That was my brother’s

He was a wild one

Left it with me to watch over

While he was gone

I guess it can go now

There’s no room for it in the ground

I’ll be joining him soon if I can’t

Get the chill out of this house

(Chorus)

That one is mine

Or at least it was

I worked hard the last 20-years

To pay it off

I guess you can’t move it

So I should be leaving now

I hope everything that I had

Is worth living without

(Chorus)
